Super Bowl Champs Board the Train for a New Season

New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Champions

Years ago, Quirky T asked her college roommate what was her favorite Gloria Estefan song.  Her roommate’s answer surprised her because it was more about the moment that occurred when her roommate heard the song than it was about the song itself.  (The song, by the way, was “Words Get in the Way”.)

It’s always been said that songs bring back memories of the time and place when you first heard them.

The song that is bringing me vivid memories now is “It’s Enough” by Jon Secada from his 1997 CD called “Secada”.  In the time before iPods, I transferred this CD to tape and played it on my Walkman over and over again during New York Giants training camp in Albany, NY.

As the NFL season begins tonight with the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants playing the (following The Guitar Train niceness rules, I will refrain from adding a negative adjective here) Dallas Cowboys, I am preparing for another exciting Giants season.  I am also preparing for the Giants not to be the dominating, blowing out their opponents team I prefer but being the underdogs with last minute heroics.  It doesn’t matter in the end because last year they ended up Super Bowl Champions. (For the fourth time!)

It also doesn’t matter what record the Giants end up with because what Jon Secada sang applies to my feelings about the Giants, “It’s enough to know that I’m always gonna love you all my life.”

            Go Giants!!!

Quirky T wants to know which song brings back sports related memories to you.  Share those memories with passengers on the Guitar Train.

As always, all Guitar Train passengers should keep in mind that anything posted on the Guitar Train blog must NOT contain profanity or ethnic, racial, gender, or physical insensitivity.  If you don’t like a musician’s music, only make comments on his or her music, not on his or her looks.  In this case, no derogatory comments about sports teams.  Anyone who violates this will have to disembark at the next stop on the Guitar Train and will not be allowed back on the train.
